| Recently the IRS issued the following "recommendations" or "proposals" to regulate tax preparers. It will take a few years to implement all of these proposals. In the meantime, CTEC regulations remain in full force and effect so tax preparers in California must continue to comply with state registration requirements. |

According to California state law, all tax preparers must comply with the continuing education act and be CTEC certified every year. This is the time of year that tax professionals in the state of California dread or procrastinate until just days or worse, hours before the deadline. |
